Letter writer does not request a BOP adjustment, but requests that we move all TCR cars to T1. This change is not permitted during the season. The committee will consider BOP adjustments.
The committee recognizes the importance of ECU tune compliance. We are compiling information and working on programs and processes to confirm that racers are utilizing approved tunes. Considering the various vehicles and tuning methods in the classes, this is no small task. Your suggestions are appreciated and we will consider them as we move forward.
The rules currently require the car "must be as homologated from BMW Motorsports." This homologation includes ECU programming. It is not legal to change it.
The rules currently require a cross-dash bar in T3 and T2. It is an option in T4. Making it a requirement would be a severe hinderance to T4 cars that don't have one currently.
In GCR, Section 9.1.4.1.H.7., change as follows: "All current STU cars, except TCR car s, may reduce their weight by 4% after all other modifiers." In STU Spec Lines, remove Chart STU-TCR in its entirety. In T2 Spec Lines, classify T2-TCR Chart as follows:

Thank you for your letter. The BOP in the touring classes is heavily dependent on real-world on-track data. Past results showed that we needed to slow down the M2 CS. We are still waiting to see data that shows that change and the resulting BOP. The use of a simple power to weight formula isn't of interest a practical basis for a good BOP. It does not take into consideration: geometry, aero, gear ratios, torque, the shape of the HP curve, and so on. Even if we did start over with it, we would end up right where we are, making adjustments using data.

Thank you for your letter. The committee classed this car in T2 under certain conditions, as defined during a negotiation with the car's engineers. They were willing to forgo performance springs and shocks in order to be allowed to run without a restrictor. The engineers suggested they are not capable of engineering a restrictor method that would be workable. The members of the TAC are committed to standing behind this agreement.
In GCR, Section 9.1.9.3.F.7.a., change as follows: “All wheels shall be of the diameter and rim width combination as originally offered by the OEM (including optional equipment) for the year(s), make, model and trim level(s) of the car as listed on the specification line. Unless noted in the vehicle's spec line, wheel size and tire size are not restricted as long as they fit within unmodified OEM body work. It is permissible to roll the inner fender lip to prevent rubbing.” In GCR, Section 9.1.9.3.F.7.d., delete in its entirety and reletter: “Wheels are permitted any offset provided the tire tread (that portion of the tire that contacts the ground) does not protrude beyond the fender opening when viewed from the top perpendicular to the ground.”

The Touring Committee has surveyed the active membership regarding the proposal to change the camber limit in T2, T3 and T4. The original rule, setting the limit to 3.5 degrees, has been in effect as the classes evolved. As time goes on and production cars has become more complex, the average operating life of Touring cars has increased. Members are building cars and expecting them to last 10 years or more. The TAC believes that the 3.5-degree camber limit, much like bolt in roll cages, should be a thing of the past. Survey Results- The survey was a simple, containing 1 question: “Are you in favor or removing the camber limits in T2, T3 and T4? Yes or No.” There were 130 respondents. A majority of respondents (73.85%, 96 people) were in favor of removing the limit. A minority of
Show 23 more lines
respondents (26.15%, 34 people) were not in favor of removing the limit. There were a variety of comments. Detractors mentioned; rules creep, performance parts cost, and effects to BOP. Proponents mentioned; increased tire life, and decreased long-term operating expense. With inaccuracies in tech, many members have expressed frustration with the buffer they needed to feel safe at tech inspection. Interpretation- By removing the camber limit, racers can find an optimal setting that prolongs the life cycle of the most expensive wear item on the car, the tires. In many cases, this optimal setting may be only a few tenths off of 3.5 degrees. The Touring rules already allow various means to achieve camber, including; eccentric bushings, eccentric bolts, slotted top hats, shims, and adjustable toe links. Some cars have individual spec line allowances if camber cannot be achieved. It is the intention of the Touring Committee to launch the new rule as of January 1, 2026. This provides ample time for members to request spec line allowances to adapt to the change. Remember, current camber-related allowances tend to be the most affordable and basic options available. Future allowances would follow this trend. In GCR, Section 9.1.9.2.D.5.a. Suspension Adjustments, change as follows: "1. T2-T4: (Effective 01/01/2026) A maximum of 3.5 degrees of negative camber is allowed on front and rear suspensions. Spec line part(s) may not be modified to increase caster and camber. Strut suspensions may adjust camber and caster by the use of eccentric bushings, eccentric bolts (crash bolts) at the strut-to-spindle, and/or by use of slotted adjustment plates at the top of the strut mounting plate. If upper strut slotted adjustment plates are used, they shall be located on existing chassis structure, utilizing the unmodified manufacturer’s original bolt holes and may not serve as reinforcement for that structure. Slotted adjustment plates (strut camber plates) may incorporate a single spherical bearing (spherical bushing) and a ball thrust bearing per strut tower. On other forms of suspension, camber and caster adjustment may be achieved by the use of shims and/or eccentric bushings. Adjustable toe links with spherical bearings are permitted and may serve no purpose other than adjusting toe angle. Spherical bearings/bushings are not permitted in T2-T4 except for the specific examples listed in the class rules or vehicle spec line.”
Thank you for your letter. The competition adjustment was based on the success of the M2 Club Sport that won the Runoffs using the purple power stick. The data collected at that race showed that the M2CS had a top speed within 1 mph of the Corvette. The data also showed that the BMW M2CS had best in class acceleration out of turn 3, Turn 5, and turn 14. We will continue to monitor the class.
Thank you for your letter. The top 2 cars at the 2024 T2 runoffs race were significantly faster than the Cadillac Blackwing, by 2 to 2.5 seconds per lap. Because of the total weight, front weight bias and high cg of the Cadillac the bulk of the loss in time is in braking and corner speeds. Assuming the two front runners are not slowed down significant modifications to the Cadillac are needed. I am requesting 315 tires maximum. The current 295 tires on a 3800 pound car are not enough tire for this weight. I am requesting aftermarket shocks and springs with a maximum spring rate of 1000 pounds/inch front and rear to replace the OEM shocks and springs which are way lower spring rate than the competitors. I am requesting to allow removal of the OEM catalytic convertors to help reduce the high exhaust temperatures which damage the turbochargers. The trap speeds for the Cadillac, which is the heaviest car, are in a similar range to the competition and as shown by the winning BMW M2CS Cup racecar which
Show 2 more lines
had trap speeds on the low end of the top 5 cars, the trap speeds are not that indicative of a fast lap time and winning capability. Reducing weight on the Blackwing is not feasible under the current rules.
Thank you for your letter. The committee agrees that we'd like to keep creep to a minimum. Recent changes have been made to the category rules that we hope will decrease operating costs or improve safety. Recent changes to improve cooling are intended to improve engine longevity. The caliper allowance was intended to target T2 and T3 cars that did not have a performance caliper allowance. Most contenders already had some variation of a race-quality caliper on their spec line. We felt it important to offer that safety and durability to the remaining spec lines. Over time, 4 piston options have decreased in lieu of 6-piston offerings. By making it a category rule, we won't be burdened by discontinued or unavailable parts moving forward. There are two topics that could be regarded as "creep" that we are currently working on. We have been asked to consider 1) removing the camber limit rule, and 2)allowing adjusters on shocks in T4. We requested surveys be sent to members

to be sure that this is what we all want before we make a decision.
Remove upper limits to roll cage attachment points?
In GCR, Section 9.4.D.1., change as follows: "(Effective 4/1/25) 1. Improved Touring, Spec Miata, B-Spec, and C-Spec, T2, T3 and T4 classes –The roll cage must attach to the vehicle structure within the passenger compartment in a minimum of 6 points and a maximum of 8 points, maximum of 12 points for T2, T3 and T4, as specified in these rules. T2 and T3 only - Up to an additional 6 mounting points may be used with a 100# pound penalty. These include, but are not limited to, A-Pillar, B-Pillar, Roof, Rocker, but may not extend past the fire wall. The roll cage may not pass through any structural member, including the firewall, except Miata rear main hoop braces may pass through the package tray. Seam welding is not permitted in T2, T3 and T4."
Thank you for your letter. A correction was sent to revise the prelims. The wording is already in the Fastrack to protect T2 cars currently using the 5% diameter allowance.
In GCR, Section 9.1.9.2.D.8.a., add the following: "9. OEM fog lights may be removed. The resulting hole may be directed to brake ducts or coolers, any resulting hole not used for cooling must be covered."
Thank you for your letter. The touring committee believes that the concept of making automatic transmissions more appealing has merit. The TAC would like to enact the concept on a case-by-case basis. Making a wholesale change at this point, and adding multiple transmissions based on speculation is not a project that we're ready for. Adding a transmission to a spec line is a new classification and could be done throughout the year.
In GCR9.1.9.2.D.6.a., change as follows: "6. Stock replacement brake rotors may be obtained from sources other than the manufacturer provided they are the exact equivalent of the stock rotors. In T2 only - 2-piece rotors with ferrous metal rotor disks and aluminum hats are allowed, must be within 5% of OE diameter. In T3 only - 2-piece front rotors with ferrous metal rotor disks and aluminum hats are allowed, must be within 2% of OEM diameter. Drilled and slotted rotors are permitted. In T2-Performance alternative rotors, including 2 piece rotors are permitted. Rotors must be within 5% of OE diameter or a maximum diameter of 360mm. In T3- Performance alternative rotors, including 2 piece rotors are permitted with a maximum diameter of 360mm. T4- Performance alternative rotors are permitted but rotors must meet the sizes listed in the spec line."

In GCR9.1.9.2.D.6.a., add the following: "9. Touring 2 and Touring 3 only- 4 or 6-piston performance alternative brake calipers are permitted on the front axles."
Removal of Steering Wheel Locks Not Required in Touring
Thank you for your letter. In many modern Touring cars, deactivating the steering wheel lock isn't as easy as it was in the old days. Many cars will have electronic safety systems that will not allow the car to operate unless all parts of the steering wheel lock operates exactly as designed. Naturally, there is nothing preventing you from deactivating your own. Given the redundant safety features in many modern cars, we feel that the risk of failure is very low.
Thank you for your letter. The Touring committee does not know how the class consolidation initiative will shape up. The committee is working to protect the interests of Touring and American Sedan racers. For 2025, we expect the status-quo.
Thank you for your letter. The presence of a small crack under the hard tops has been visible for few years. Any advantage the crack may have caused had been adjusted during BOP changes in the past. If the air gap is an advantage, forcing them to close it would result in a different positive adjustment.
The Touring committee is seeking opinions on whether it should be permissible to allow cabin venting via removing door/trunk seals and/or by creating a gap under a hard top.
Thank you for your letter. Occasionally aero devices make their way into T2, but they are only allowed if they come on a ready-built race cars. We do not want to change T2 to commonly allow these types of devices. If there are BMW parts that can achieve some of your goals, we would consider such a request.
Thanks for your letter. We appreciate your concern about the BOP in T2. The Cadillac was classed without a restrictor because of its unique turbo arrangement. GM engineers were adamant that they could not restrict this engine without severe risk of failure. Accordingly, it was classed with restrictions uncommon to T2. These restrictions include a stock shock and catalytic converter. We have data on this car from the Runoffs and have compared other competitive spec lines. Please know that we are watching it closely.
Thank you for your letter. There was a recent change to the battery rules. The weight requirement has already been removed. "Batteries may be replaced provided the replacement is capable of starting the car. Batteries may not be relocated unless noted on the spec line. Batteries must be adequately secured. Battery labeling must conform to 9.3.35.D."
Thank you for your letter. Please work directly with other members to help answer your questions pertaining to your car. TAC has tried to maintain a dialogue, without response.
Member hasn't replied to emails. If member is still interested in classing this car, please provide all of the information needed to complete a T2 Spec line.
Thank you for your letter. You are allowed to modify the spare tire well to install a fuel cell in that location. You cannot install it in a way that affects the exterior bodywork.
Thank you for your letter. The Cadillac Blackwing was classed after long discussions with GM engineers. Trade-offs were made to accommodate GM's stance that the car could not be restricted with a TIR. It was classed at a high weight, and without suspension allowances to counter the car's out-of-the-box horsepower for the T2 class. If GM will find a way to restrict the horsepower, additional handling allowances will be considered.
Thank you for your letter. The 350Z has been racing in the SCCA for 15 years. There have been numerous national championships won with the 350Z in this time. Kulach, Hines, Stout, Williams, and others have had great success with these cars. The knowledge to make these cars work properly is out there. We are sympathetic about your concerns, but we're afraid to open Pandora's box. Racing ABS adds complexity and cost that shouldn't be incurred in T3.
In GCR, Section 9.1.9.2.D.8.4.c., change as follows: "All of the vehicle’s doors must be able to be opened from both inside and outside the vehicle. Electric door latches may be removed and replaced with mechanical linkage. Mechanical door latch location must be marked to be visible to workers. Front doors- Inner door skin, and window hardware, may be removed to reduce weight. Front factory door bars may be removed if the roll cage adequately protects the driver. Rear doors (if equipped)- Inner door skin, factory door bars window hardware may be removed provided rear windows are securely fastened in place."
Thank you for your letter. You are correct. Aero items are not normally an item that is allowed in Touring 2. The Porsches in question were given those allowances over a decade ago. In the intervening time, the balance of power has been established with those allowances. If those aero allowances allowed the car to corner too well, it was likely reflected in the car's race weight. Completely banning aero in T2 creates difficulty for members that already have it. What's more important, allowing aero on a case-by-case basis lets us class spec cars and purpose-built cars, which the class sorely needs. Very few late model cars are entering the class, unless they are built at the factory. We need to be willing to accommodate cars like the M240iR, the Spec Corvette, the Mustang Darkhorse and others. Otherwise, the average age of the cars in the class will soon exceed 20 years. We
Show 1 more lines
just need to ensure that the balance of power in T2 is maintained.
Thank you for your letter. We have had requests for the SE36. We feel that the car won't compete in T3. We also believe that the car is too old to be a new classification in the touring classes. We suggest looking into IT or ST.
Thank you for your letter. The TAC was apprehensive to class this car in T2 without any restriction on horsepower. During a meeting with GM engineers, we were reassured that the car could not be restricted with a TIR. We agreed to class the car in T2 under the condition that the suspension components remain completely stock. Given the car's notable straight-line advantage, we are not ready to improve its handling. If we could agree on some way to restrict horsepower, consistent with other front running T2 cars, we would be willing to consider some traditional T2 handling allowances.
Thank you for your letter. We don't wish to place this burden on the membership. We also believe it would be too easy to provide false information. We use many factors, aside from horsepower to perform BOP adjustments.
Thank you for your letter. The spec line specs are the basic allowances for the car. If there is an additional option in the notes, that option supersedes the specs in the spec line. In your case, the "Brembo brake kit part number 3K2.8032A" may be run in its entirety, including the 355 mm rotors.
Thank you for your letter. In letter number 33762, you requested an aftermarket intercooler for the 320i T3 and T4. An intercooler of this type has never been allowed in T4 and would set an unwanted precedent. Aftermarket intercoolers are common allowances in T3. We feel that the 320i is a better fit in T3 and would be more reliable there.
Allow replacement of plastic hose with silicone part for Audi S4
Thank you for your letter. There was a special meeting about classing this car. We were extremely concerned about classing this car without any turbo inlet restriction, which is our usual method for controlling horsepower. The agreement made was that the Blackwing would run on stock suspension with the specs currently in the spec line. It has already been granted some allowances beyond the initial agreement.
Thank you for your letter. We have data from a Civic Type R. We are confident that the car is capable of being competitive. An unrestricted version of this car has competitive power for T2, let alone T3.
Thank you for your letter. We believe that the spring rates are well outside the class standards, and question if the allowed suspension components could safely handle that high of a spring rate.
Thank you for your letter. We are watching this spec line closely and are prepared to BOP it if needed. At this point, we'd like to see more recent data.
Thank you for your letter. Recent parts allowances should improve the reliability of the camper adjustments on certain cars. The current rules for touring allow 3.5 degrees and the appropriate parts to achieve it. If we remove the camber limit, we'd start a situation where more and more suspension allowances would be needed. In that scenario, suspension parts would become BOP adjustments.
Thank you for your letter. We do not recommend allowing headlights to be removed. We suggest sourcing aftermarket alternative headlights that are similar in appearance. Having headlights is at the core of showroom-based racing. Allowing one car to remove their headlights would start a wave of similar requests.
Thank you for your letter. Please submit VTS sheets for this car. Be specific about the modifications that are currently done to the car, so we can determine if it fits well in Touring.
Request to classify the new Civic SI FE1 factory race car
Thank you for your letter. The rules imply, in this case, that toe links with spherical bearings are allowed. Other spherical bearings are not allowed.

In addition T2-T4 5 cars may race one class up in touring classes above their specification line class as long as they are a legal T2. T5 is a Regional only class." In GCR, Section 9.1.9.2.D.1.e.1., change as follows: "Any overbore up to .020” permitted T2- T4 5 with +30 lbs. penalty." In GCR, Section 9.1.9.2.D.5.a.1., change as follows:

In GCR, Section 9.1.9.2.D.7.b., add as follows: "T5 has a maximum tire size of 225/45." In GCR, Section 9.1.9.2.D.10.c., change as follows: "All cars shall have, as a minimum, a fire extinguisher meeting the specifications of GCR Section 9.3 Fire System. In GCR, Section 9.1.9.2.E., change as follows: "Touring Category Classes are as follows: T2, T3, and T4 and T5." In Touring Spec Lines, create new T3 classification as follows:
A specification table follows in the original; it is not shown here.
Thank you for your letter. The BMWs that you referenced were actually produced in rather large numbers, and they were based off of readily available USDM models. Their performance level is appropriate for T2. The Ginetta is not a USDM model. GT4 cars will not be classed in T2.
Thank you for your letter. The SCCA's rule is that glass windows cannot be run in the closed position. It is a general safety rule for all classes, and it isn't unique to the touring classes. The Touring committee cannot permit you to run with glass windows up.
Thank you for your letter. The SCCA's rule is that glass windows cannot be run in the closed position. It is a general safety rule for all classes, and it isn't unique to the touring classes. The Touring committee cannot permit you to run with glass windows up.
Thank you for your letter. The Ginetta doesn't meet the intent of the Touring classes - "Touring Category Classes are intended to provide the Membership with the opportunity to compete in commonly-available, recently-produced automobiles in as near the legal, street-driven form of those automobiles as is practically and safely possible under racing circumstances." The car isn't "commonly available" or "street driven" in the US. It would be a better fit in a GT class.
Request allowance for aftermarket suspension components
Thank you for your letter. The committee does not wish to allow the Koni on the Mazda 3. There are other available off-the- shelf options for the Mazda 3 at this time.
Thank you for your letter. It was never our intention to slow the car. We liked seeing the Viper run in T2. The problem is that your Viper was consistently over 150 mph, while the rest of the field was consistently trapping near 144 mph. Our Post Runoffs adjustments also included a weight reduction, which we thought would assist in tire preservation. Based on the data reviewed from Sebring, it appears that the adjustments bring the Viper more in-line with the class's trap speeds and lap times. We will continue to watch the car.
Thank you for your letter. Camber can be adjusted by using offset bushings. The toe links are allowed solely for toe adjustment. If you want a specific camber arm, they are considered on a case-by-case basis. Please provide a part number.
Consider a Spec Tire for Balance of Durability, Speed and Expense
Thank you for your letter. Touring has always allowed DOT tires that are approved for the speed rating of the class. There are other brands that are available for you to try. The majority of Touring competitors are not interested in limiting their tire choices.
Thank you for your letter. The performance adjustments published are the result of thoughtful consideration, data collection, and analysis from all of the touring races throughout the 2021 season. Decisions are not based solely on a single event but all touring races throughout every region. No BOP decision is made quickly or without careful consideration. We ask that you bring out your cars and race. Without data on the adjusted cars further corrections can't be made. Please participate. The more data we get, the better our corrections will be.

The use of Performance Alternative ECUs is being considered in Touring. As time goes on, it is becoming harder and harder to overcome or modify the programming that comes in modern cars. To combat this, the TAC is considering allowing the use of aftermarket ECUs in one of 2 ways: 1-On a case-by-case basis- Problematic cars could be given an ECU allowance on the spec line. This would give us the ability to adjust parity by adjusting the spec line. 2-As a category rule with a penalty- We could allow aftermarket ECUs on all Touring cars with an appropriate penalty for choosing to use it.
Thank you for your letter. We suggest choosing the smaller engine option, without the supercharger. The car would fit nicely in T3 with some performance allowances. If you're interested in that path, please provide a letter with the proper VTS sheets so we can create a spec line.
Thank you for your letter. The 2021 Mustang Mach 1 is not classified in Touring 1 or Touring 2 at this point. We will consider classing it, but we need the letter writer to complete the appropriate VTS sheets and request classification.
Thank you for your letter. When comparing race results, it looks like the Spec Boxster is faster than T4. There are also some allowances that don't fit with our definition of T4: Flywheels, lighter batteries, accusump, adjustable shocks, no ride height limit, 8.5" wide wheels, etc. Because of this, the TAC has favored leaving it in T3 and allowing items like better tires to speed it up.

Effective 03/01/2022 In GCR, Section 9.1.9.2.D.1.i., add the following: "10. Intercoolers- If an alternative intercooler is allowed on a vehicle's spec line, it must conform to the following: It must fit in the original location. It must require no body or structural modifications to install. No new openings may be created to direct air to the intercooler. If an intercooler is allowed, the appropriate hoses to attach it are also permitted provided that they serve no other purpose than the OE hoses."
Effective 03/01/2022 In T2-T4 Spec Lines, Section 9.1.9.2.D.6.a.6, add the following: "In T3 only - 2-piece front rotors with ferrous metal rotor disks and aluminum hats are allowed, must be within 2% of OEM diameter."
Thank you for your letter. The TAC does not support adding a wing or aero allowances to any T2 cars. The allowance on the 996 is grandfathered, since it has been on the car in T2 for a very long time to allow this car to continue to compete. The E46 doesn't need an aero allowance to be competitive.
Thank you for your letter. The current BOP is very close. This change will throw that off. Some cars can achieve camber and others are very limited. 3.5 degrees is attainable by most cars under the current bushing and top hat rules.

Thank you for your letter. The committee reached out to the letter writer. He was just fishing for info. We asked him to be more specific about his request. He seems to be considering a 2022 BRZ instead.
Rules Change Request - T2 Ford Mustang 5.0l '11-'14
Effective 03/01/2022 In T2-T4, GCR section 9.1.9.2.D.1.e. Block, make changes as follows: "2. The production engine block/crankcase may be substituted with another OE engine block regardless of generation and/or date of manufacture. The replacement engine block must be of the same material, and have the same, bore, stroke, and deck height as the block supplied in the car of the specific spec line. Aftermarket blocks are prohibited."
Thank you for your letter. Data from the season and the Runoffs was analyzed after the season. Please see the suggested T2 BOP adjustments in letter 31480. If you would like to race the 2021 Mach 1, please complete the VTS sheets and submit them.
In GCR, Section 9.1.9.2.D.6.a., add the following: "8. Brake vacuum reservoirs sized 0.50 gallons or smaller are permitted. The port or fitting at the vacuum source may not be modified, enlarged or relocated. The vacuum reservoir and brake booster must be a closed system."
In GCR, Section 9.1.2.2.D.1.f., add the following: "6. The oil pan and oil pickup may be baffled, modified, or replaced. Using safety wire or a similar method to secure the drain plug is allowed and encouraged."
Request to Allow Alternative Material Blanks for Headlight
The Touring committee is considering making a change to the sway bar philosophy in T2, T3 and T4 for the 2022 racing season. Currently aftermarket sway bars are only allowed on a case-by-case basis on individual spec lines. We are considering allowing aftermarket sway bars on all touring cars in the category rules. Please write in to provide input, thank you.
Thank you for your letter. The car is currently classed in T2 and T3, and the committee has data that indicates that the cars are competitively equipped.

In GCR, Section 9.1.9.2.D.8.a., add the following: "8. Exclusively for engine radiator cooling purposes, it is permitted to remove the outermost non-metallic webbed false grill openings that are closed in mesh style factory grill openings. Maximum allowable increase in grill opening area is 16 square inches. The modified grill opening mesh shape and contour must be retained as delivered from the manufacturer. This allowance does not permit modification to brake or intercooler grill openings. Note - It is the competitor's responsibility to be able to verify that 16 or fewer square inches have been removed."
Thank you for your letter. The Global MX5 is a spec-line car, meaning that it is allowed to run the items as allowed in the class that it was built for. For this car, it is allowed many other things that are not normally allowed in T3. Data results show that the current configuration is competitive.
Further help to (16-) Camaro SS and (15-17) Mustang GT
Thank you for your letter. We would be excited to see this car on the track in T2. If it were classed in T2, it would likely be classed with the following rules- 3400 lbs, no FPR, 295 tires, 18 x 10 wheels, stock brake size. If you are interested in going ahead with the build, please provide the information needed to fill in the remaining portions of the spec line. Also, be sure to request specific allowances for the "notes" section.
Thank you for your letter. Aerodynamic devices were recently removed from this spec line to correct BOP. We don't recommend this change at this time. The 997.2 C2S bodywork is allowed. We suggest considering using those parts.
Consider changes to sway bar rules for touring T2-T4
The Touring committee is considering making a change to the sway bar philosophy in T2, T3 and T4 for the 2022 racing season. Currently aftermarket sway bars are only allowed on a case-by-case basis on individual spec lines. We are considering allowing aftermarket sway bars on all touring cars in the category rules. Please write in to provide input, thank you.
Thank you for your letter. We didn't want the car to have 3 preparation options and have the ability to make track-specific setups. Reducing the number of options also makes it easier for tech to follow. We do not consider the addition of the weight to be an immense technical challenge.
Thank you for your letter. The vast majority of member input regarding T2 over the past 12 months indicated that people wanted to lessen restrictions on competitive cars to achieve parity with the 996. If we removed the wing from the 996 and helped the other cars, it would be non-competitive.
Thank you for your letter. The car is classed in T3. The CRB feels that it isn't a good fit in T2. We don't feel that the 4c will be capable of competing in T2.
Thank you for letter. T2 will continue to be monitored and appropriate corrective changes applied as necessary. We agree the issue of wings is challenge.
Thank you for your letter. This car is competitive as classed. Parts like this one are generally not permitted in T2. Additional options like this one are not recommended at this time. The part is no longer out-of-stock.
Thank you for your letter. It appears that the requested gear ratio was only available on cars with an automatic transmission. We do not recommend a change at this time.
Thank you for your letter. There are already 2 options on this spec line. We feel that the current rules are complex enough and adding another option over-complicates the rules set.
Thank you for your letter. Recent changes to T2 have been made and we will continue to monitor the BOP in the class. Please Note, there is already a 100 pound penalty for the PDK.
In T2, Nissan 370Z (09-17) / 370Z NISMO Edition (09-17), change Notes as follows: "5300S-SS370 T-2 spring kit allowed; 54600-SS370 T-2 front and rear sway bar kit allowed. Sports Package is allowed. Add Language to Runoffs Supps Enforcing Tear Down of Race Winner
Thank you for your letter. Changes have been made to the class to improve competition. If you have any specific ideas, please send them in for consideration.
In T2-T4, GCR section 9.1.9.2.D.8.a.6, add the following: "Air jacks are permitted, but no air source may be carried on board. Installation of such may not reinforce the chassis or add another attachment point to the roll cage structure. It is permitted to attach one or more plates, or pads, under the car to provide for jacking of the car, provided they serve no other purpose. It is prohibited to install any kind of device, which protrudes from the rocker panel or side of the car."
In T2, Nissan 350Z Track/ Touring/ Standard/ Nismo Spec Z (03-08), add to notes as follows: "72125 and 72123 are allowed." In T3, Nissan 350Z Track/ Touring/ Standard/ Nismo (03-08), add to notes as follows: "72125 and 72123 are allowed." In T3, Nissan 350Z Track/ Touring/ Standard/ Nismo (03-08) Spec Z, add to notes as follows: "72125 and 72123 are allowed." In T2, BMW E92 M3 (08-14), add to notes as follows: "OEM brake ducts may be used in the factory configuration and may serve no other purpose than the factory intent."
Supports Changing Cage Mounting Points to Minimum Number
In GCR section 9.4.E.1, add new section as follows: "Improved Touring, Spec Miata, B-Spec, T2, T3 and T4 classes –The roll cage must attach to the vehicle structure within the passenger compartment in a minimum of 6 points and a maximum of 8 points, maximum of 12 points for T2, as specified in these rules. T2 and T3 only - Up to an additional 6 mounting points may be utilized with a 100# penalty. These include, but are not limited to, A-Pillar, B-Pillar, Roof, Rocker, but may not extend past the fire wall. Roll cage may not pass through any structural member, including the firewall, except Miata."
Allow touring 2 and super touring cages in touring
Thank you for your letter. The wings have been considered when establishing the current BOP, and removing them would negatively affect BOP. We will continue to monitor the class.
Thank you for your letter. The introduction of replacement ECUs in touring is being carefully considered. A change in this philosophy would affect parity in a drastic way. We do not recommend a change at this time, but we will continue to monitor the situation.

Thank you for your letter. Based on data available from the cars that participated in Mid-Ohio and Road America, there isn't a need to make a change at this time. We will continue to monitor the class.
Thank you for your letter. BOP adjustments are made using all available data including race results and AIM data, at this time that range of data does not support a change for the Solstice. The CRB and TAC will continue to monitor the class performance.
Request to Allow 2 Jacking Points to Be Added to Body Seams
Please submit the following What Do You Think for member feedback: The Club Racing Board and Touring Advisory Committee are considering a Touring category rules change to allow roll cages with additional chassis attachment points. This would be accomplished by specifying a minimum number of attachment points only. Currently T2 is limited to a maximum of 12 chassis attachment points and T3-T4 are limited to 8 attachment points. Many, if not most, other sanctioning bodies specify a minimum number of attachment points only. This limits cross participation with touring. A concept under consideration is to phase in minimum attachment point cages for T2 and T3. Starting in

2020 cars exceeding the current number of attachment points will be legal with a weight penalty of 1.5% to the base weight of the car. Data can be collected and, if appropriate, the weight penalty can be adjusted to correct the BoP. Starting in 2021 the weight penalty can be removed, and the rules rewritten to specify a minimum number of attachment points. Please share your opinion on a Touring category rule change for additional chassis/cage attachment points in T2/T3 at crbscca.com.
Request to allow LS7 clutch system on Cadillac CTS-V

Request to allow overbore of .020 for T2 Cadillac CTS-V
Thank you for your letter. Recent changes have been made in T2 that should benefit this car. If the small brake configuration isn't acceptable, please consider a different configuration.
Thank you for your letter. This generated a good discussion among the Touring Committee. We will consider 2-piece rotors for multiple Touring classes for 2020; unfortunately we cannot consider 2-piece rotors for this car for 2019.
Thank you for your letter. This action is not recommended at this time. The Porsche Motorsports control arms that are permitted on this car are the only optional control arms permitted.
