#40337 from Preston Obremski · Rule change · TB 26-09 (2026-09 Fastrack)
In FP, classify the Chevrolet Cavalier (02-05) as follows effective 10/1/2026:
BoP Lab / Drivers / Preston Obremski
| Track | Class | Sessions | Typical gap to class best | Closest |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Sebring International Raceway (3.74 mi) | FP | 4 | +6.722s (3.93%) | +6.609s (3.78%) |
Gap is the driver's best lap in a session against the fastest lap in their class in that same session (zero is fastest in class), shown as time lost and as a share of the lap, so conditions cancel out and tracks can be compared. Typical is the median session.

In FP, classify the Chevrolet Cavalier (02-05) as follows effective 10/1/2026:
#40129 from Preston Obremski · Not recommended · Minutes (2026-06 Fastrack)
The requested allowance is not recommended as it is beyond class philosophy. The limited modifications allowed to OE Fuel
Injection intake manifolds for Level 2 vehicles is a key component to balance of performance (BOP) calculations. The factory
manifold is considered when determining vehicle weight and other BOP items.

The performance potential of the Neon as classed has yet to be fully shown on-track, as no serious engine
development program has been demonstrated, to the limit of the permitted rules. Additionally, when
compared to other competitors in FP, it appears to be appropriately classed. It is the desire of the PAC to
ensure the competitive potential of every classification, including the Neon, but this is very difficult to do
just by comparing on-track performance of cars with drastic differences in development. Please continue
to develop the car and consult with those who are knowledgeable about the Neon and the Limited Prep
Prod ruleset.

Thank you for your letter. This car was was included in data collection at the Sebring Super Tour. That data will be compiled and
analyzed to determine if any adjustments are necessary. Please note that collection of data is for information gathering
purposes only and does not guarantee that adjustments will be made. Also note that the level of preparation of cars upon which
data is collected is considered in making BOP changes.
