Gap is the driver's best lap in a session against the fastest lap in their class in that same session (zero is fastest in class), shown as time lost and as a share of the lap, so conditions cancel out and tracks can be compared. Typical is the median session.

In Timing and Scoring Systems, GCR section 5.10.3.B, add the following: "A working MyLaps Transponder system is required for all sanctioned event sessions unless the requirement is specifically exempted by the Event Supplemental Regulations. (Effective 1/1/26) 1. Cars without working transponders might not receive times. 2. The driver is responsible for providing correct information for the MyLaps Transponder system to Timing & Scoring."
In Identification Markings, GCR section 9.3.29, change as follows and re-letter the following sections accordingly: "(Effective 1/1/26) Each car shall must carry identification markings per the sections listed below; and any markings required by the Supplemental Regulations. A. Numbers and Class Letters Identifications Numbers shall must be placed on the front and both sides of the car so that they are legible. All closed-wheel cars must have the front number located on the hood. All Formula cars with a rear wing shall must have legible numbers on each rear wing side end plate. Numbers may be 1 one, 2 two, or 3 three digits. 3 Three-digit numbers must start begin with the number "1" and must meet the approval of the Chief of Timing and Scoring. Class letters identifications shall must be placed on both sides

The numeral "1" shall will be exclusively reserved for the current national champion in each class for Conference Majors/Super Tour events. Metallic (reflective) numbers and class letters are prohibited. The distance between 2 two numbers shall must be at least as wide as the stroke of the numbers. Front and side numbers must be surrounded by 6 inches of contrasting background free of all other graphics. If multiple digits are used, each number digit must be the same color. Cars with illegible numbers may not be scored. The Chief of Timing and Scoring and the Race Director/Chief Steward will determine legibility of markings. Class letters identifications shall must be at least 4 inches high, with a 1/2-inch stroke on a solid contrasting background. C. Legibility Legibility of numbers and class identifications will be determined by the Chief of Timing and Scoring in conjunction with the Race Director/Chief Steward. Requests for changes will be communicated to the driver through the Race Director/Chief Steward. Various methods of communication may be utilized and will be considered as having been delivered to the entrant. If no improvement is made after two notifications to the entrant, a request will be made to note a non-compliant number in the vehicle logbook. This regulation overrides all class or spec line rules, regulations, and standards."
Clarification of 6.10.5 and Appendix B, section 1.2
In Racing Rules and Procedures, GCR section 6.10.5.A, change as follows: "If a race is stopped at less than 50 percent of its scheduled time or distance and is not restarted, it is incomplete; championship points shall not be awarded regions may award drivers’ points, and but organizers will not be required to distribute trophies or other awards."
