Against the front of the class, by track and class
Gap is the driver's best lap in a session against the fastest lap in their class in that same session (zero is fastest in class), shown as time lost and as a share of the lap, so conditions cancel out and tracks can be compared. Typical is the median session.

Letters to Fastrack
In Defense of the Divisional Path or Give Us All Majors
#36351 from Gordon Kuhnley · No action required · Minutes (2024-11 Fastrack)
Thank you for your letter. Before the Majors program was commenced there was no divisional path to Runoffs; only those
competing at Nationals could earn an invitation. The 2+2 path will be retained. We appreciate your participation whether in
Regional or Majors/HST events!

SM Miata Hubs or Similar Solve a lot of Issues, Lets Make Them Legal
#29563 from Gordon Kuhnley · Not recommended · Minutes (2022-02 Fastrack)
Thank you for your letter. SMAC does not recommend this change. There are extremely limited options in the market for steel
aftermarket roller bearing style hubs and come with a cost of over $1200.00. SMAC does not feel opening up an expensive part
like that is good for the average racer as they may feel they need to move to a more expensive option just to be
competitive. Mazda has re-released their competition hub with extensive testing and updates to address past concerns which
should give the community a more cost effective solution for those who wish to use an upgraded front hub.
SM Support Tire Management Plan for HST and Majors
#27126 from Gordon Kuhnley · Taken care of · Minutes (2020-01 Fastrack)
Thank you for your letter. We are currently working on several programs to contain cost while providing
the racing community with a tire that meets their standards. Please reference letters 24462 and 27041
in an upcoming Fastrack.
