Gap is the driver's best lap in a session against the fastest lap in their class in that same session (zero is fastest in class), shown as time lost and as a share of the lap, so conditions cancel out and tracks can be compared. Typical is the median session.

Letters to Fastrack
B-Spec Deletion of KW Suspension Pieces Still In Use
The committee reinstated the use of the world challenge-era suspension kits for the Mini Cooper. Several of the old world challenge kits were deleted in an effort to streamline the spec lines and not send new participants on wild goose chases for parts that have not existed in over a decade. Allowing parts that are not easily findable is not conducive to growing the class and is a practice we are trying to move away from. However, we do not want to alienate current participants in the process of achieving that goal.
We appreciate your perspective and feedback. The Club Racing Board does not recommend this change. Standards for number legibility are in GCR section 9.3.29. Event organizers have the ability to ask competitors to comply with the standards.
In Camera and Camera Mounts, GCR section 9.3.11, add a new section as follows: "(Effective 6/1/25) C. Competitors must retain their forward-facing camera video and make it available if requested until the results for all of their run group sessions are deemed final, which could be after the event has ended."
Thank you for your letter. The Club Racing Board does not recommend this change. Redefining what creates an unsafe and illegal pass under yellow flag conditions would be unenforceable particularly with multi-class racing and would impose additional judgment calls on corner workers to determine who may have gained an advantage.
Thank you for your letter. The CRB previously has presented schedules which featured a short qualifying race as you suggest as well as heat racing where points would be accumulated over three days of racing and the top point earner would be crowned as National Champion. Survey results did not favor a change to that type of format. Rest assured that we will continue to explore options that will make the event more appealing and exciting in the coming years.
